I've watched every press conference with the President since 2000. I have yelled at the TV. It's so hard to stay friendly when you watch the news and then you go online or listen to the radio and hear about "left wing media bias".
Have you listened to or watched the questions the "left wing media" has asked the President before and during the war? It's like they're afraid for their jobs if they actually ask something that challenges him about anything. I've never seen a President get more scripted questions than Bush. Every time he speaks and takes questions I sit in amazement the questions he gets asked. Once in a million he gets asked something that he doesn't want to touch so he answers it by talking about something entirely different forwarding his agenda and there is no follow up question.
Oh Wait... I did see ONE TIME there was a follow up question:

BUSH: Because it's a good chance for
both of us to answer questions that the 9/11 Commission is looking forward
to asking us. And I'm looking forward to answering them. |
THAT was the toughest question Bush has had to answer in four years.

Truth is, every single issue Michael Moore brought up in Fahrenheit 9/11 whether valid or not SHOULD HAVE BEEN ASKED BY THE "LIBERAL MEDIA" TO BUSH MONTHS AND YEARS BEFORE HIS MOVIE CAME OUT. They would have done it to Clinton.
Here's some of the hundreds of questions you didn't get to hear before during and after the Iraq war from the press corps :
"Excuse me Mr President. I though your administration said you had pinpoint satellite monitoring of Iraq over there and saw them moving weapons around. What happened to that info?? What do the satellites show now? Why did you turn them off?? What were those pictures you showed us of??" "Mr President, Where was the imminent threat from Iraq which turned out to be a 3rd world fighting force due to previous wars, sanctions and APPARENTLY SUCCESSFUL WEAPONS INSPECTIONS. What was it that made them an imminent threat that suddenly?" "Excuse me Mr President, but how exactly are Al Qaida and Iraq connected before the war OTHER THAN both having done business with your vice president?" "Excuse me Mr President but why is
it that as soon as the war was basically a done deal, the color coded
terror warnings stopped?? was it a scare tactic to sell the war? I'm
asking because reports from papers say there's another attacks likely
now but it doesn't seem to be front page news. And will we be seeing
them again before the election? "Excuse me Mr President but what ever happened to the unmarked "mystery cargo ships" sailing all over the globe that had all Saddam's WMD on them. Were they ever stopped and checked because as soon as the war started I have heard nothing about them. " "Excuse me Mr President, but do you
think our troops will be crossing that around Baghdad any time soon?"
"Yes, Mr President... you used every chance to try to tie 9-11 in with Iraq so that 70% of America believed that Iraq attacked us on 9-11. Why??"
"Mr President please explain the
executive order #13303 you signed giving ummm let me read this mr president....
"Can you tell us Mr President, a little more about Saudi Arabia? We have all heard about business deals with them but never really in detail. I also have a bunch of questions about James Baker (the lawyer who argued your case in the election in Florida... also the guy who defended the Saudis from the 911 families lawsuits) what is he up to lately? Is he still legal counsel for that Carlyle group your dad is in?" "I have a question Mr President about the stories of MASSIVE short selling of stocks just before 9-11. They had said there were people that made a LOT of money off that incident. Why haven't we heard anything and who exactly were those people?" |
I could think of 100 more questions that DONT GET ASKED at press conferences.
Before the war, the administration and press threw hundreds of things at you hoping some would stick and cause fear to sell the war. Now NO ONE is calling them on any of them. NOBODY! a couple websites and a commentator or 2. besides that NO ONE!
Could it be because General Electric, who owns NBC CNBC MSNBC etc is one of the top military contractors?
Could it be because every mainstream network and every mainstream paper is run by some corporation or CEO that would be a moron if he attacked a republican administration? While you get your 600 dollars back at the end of the year they get a whole lot more.
How about Rush and his several I-wanna-be-rush-dittobots
that scream at you all day on the radio from 6am until 6am about how the "mainstream
media is anti-American liberal trash"?? Hey Rush, What's more mainstream
than ABC RADIO in NYC?? They're owned by Disney. Who is more American mainstream
than Mickey Mouse? These are not not media people. These are tentacles of
the republican party.
Liberal media???
W ill somebody ask this guy the HARD questions??
When will people take a step back and look around and see what's going on??
It may be too late already because so much has been going on right in front
of us.
Its definitely past time to wake up.
